Accessible Paths All Winter Long

A Cleared Parking Lot Doesn't Help If the Walkway Is Still Buried

Plowing the parking lot is only half the job. The path from the car to your entrance — steps, covered walkways, and sidewalks — needs to be clear too. For commercial properties, keeping pedestrian paths accessible isn't just a courtesy; it's a liability issue.

Post Excavating & Landscaping LLC clears sidewalks, walkways, steps, and entry areas as part of our snow service. We use the right equipment for each area — commercial snowblowers for wide walks, hand shovels where equipment can't safely reach — and we clear to the surface, not just a narrow path through the snow.

Ice melt application is included on steps and high-traffic areas after clearing to prevent refreezing throughout the day.

What We Clear

Every Pedestrian Path on Your Property

From customer entrances and public walkways to employee access points and commercial facilities, we maintain safe pedestrian access throughout the winter season.

Commercial Entryways

Customer-facing entrances, ADA-accessible paths, and main entry areas for retail, office, and industrial properties — cleared before your doors open.

Public Sidewalks

Sidewalks along the roadway adjacent to your property, cleared to meet local ordinance requirements and keep pedestrians safe.

Loading Dock Approaches

Pedestrian paths leading to loading docks, employee entrances, and service areas for commercial and industrial properties.

Institutional Properties

Churches, schools, community buildings, and other gathering places where safe pedestrian access is especially important.

Medical & Professional Offices

High-traffic professional buildings where icy entry paths create both safety hazards and liability exposure for the property owner.

Industrial & Warehouse Facilities

Employee entrances, break area exits, and safety-critical pedestrian zones at manufacturing and distribution facilities.

Why It Matters

More Than Just Convenience

Liability Protection

An icy walkway is a slip-and-fall waiting to happen. For commercial properties, that's a liability issue. Cleared, salted paths protect your customers and your business.

Accessibility

ADA-accessible paths must remain passable in all weather. We clear walkways to the surface — not just a path through the snow.

Safety First

Steps and entry areas are the most dangerous spots in winter. We pay special attention to elevation changes, handrails, and transition zones.

Professional Appearance

A cleared, well-maintained entry tells your customers and employees that you take care of your property — and them.

How It Works

Our Sidewalk Clearing Process

Our team stays ahead of incoming weather to keep your operations moving without disruption.

01

Assessment

We walk your property before the season to identify all pedestrian paths, steps, and areas that need clearing.

02

Equipment Selection

We use the right tool for each area — snowblowers for wide walks, hand shovels for tight spaces and steps.

03

Storm Response

When accumulation hits your trigger depth, we clear all designated paths as part of our standard service visit.

04

Edge-to-Edge Clearing

We clear to the surface, not just a narrow path. Edges are cleaned and snow is placed where it won't block drainage.

05

Salt Application

After clearing, we apply ice melt to steps and high-traffic areas to prevent refreezing and keep surfaces safe.

06

Follow-Up

For multi-day storms, we return to keep paths clear as accumulation continues.

Common Questions

Sidewalk & Walkway Clearing FAQ

Do you serve residential properties?

No. Our snow services are exclusively for commercial properties, industrial facilities, agricultural operations, and institutional properties. We do not plow or clear residential driveways or home sidewalks.

Do you clear sidewalks as part of your standard commercial snow service?

Yes. Sidewalk and walkway clearing is included in our standard commercial snow service. We walk your property before the season to identify all pedestrian paths and entry areas so there are no surprises during a storm.

What equipment do you use for commercial sidewalks?

We use commercial snowblowers for wider walks and hand shovels for tight spaces, steps, and areas where equipment can't safely operate. We choose the right tool for each area to protect your surfaces and get the job done efficiently.

Can you clear our property on a specific schedule?

Yes. We build service agreements around your operational needs — for example, all pedestrian paths cleared by 7 a.m. before your business opens or before your first employee shift. We work with your team to set the right schedule.

Do you apply salt to walkways after clearing?

Yes. We apply ice melt to steps and high-traffic walkways after clearing as part of our standard service. Pre-treatment is also available for commercial properties where ice formation is a recurring issue.

What areas do you serve?

We serve commercial and institutional properties in Fort Recovery, Coldwater, St. Henry, Celina, Mercer County, and the surrounding areas in western Ohio and eastern Indiana. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, give us a call.
