Our Story

Two People, One Truck, and a Lot of Determination

Post Excavating & Landscaping LLC was founded in 2004 by Dan and Kristi Post in Fort Recovery, Ohio. Like most family businesses, it started small — just the two of them, a pickup truck, and a genuine passion for the land. What they lacked in equipment, they made up for in work ethic and a commitment to doing things right.

Both Dan and Kristi attended The Ohio State University — ATI in Wooster, Ohio, where Dan studied Nursery Management and Kristi studied Horticulture Science. That formal education helped shape the foundation of PEL LLC — and continues to influence the way they approach every project today. When you hire PEL LLC, you're not just hiring a crew with equipment. You're working with professionals who understand soil science, plant selection, drainage, and landscape planning from the ground up.

Over the past two decades, that foundation has allowed PEL LLC to grow into a full-service landscaping and excavation company — one that handles everything from the first shovel in the ground to the last plant in the bed.

What sets PEL LLC apart is our ability to handle every phase of a project — from excavation and site preparation to landscape design, installation, and ongoing care. We also operate a landscape supply yard at our Fort Recovery location, open to homeowners and contractors alike. Whether you need bulk mulch, decorative stone, pavers, or plants, we have the materials you need — and the expertise to help you use them right.

We serve residential and commercial clients across a seven-county region in Western Ohio and Eastern Indiana, and we're proud to be the first call for so many of our neighbors when they're ready to invest in their property.

Meet Dan & Kristi Post

Kristi Post

Owner · Landscape Design & Business Operations

Kristi leads landscape design, client relations, and business operations. A graduate of Ohio State ATI with a degree in Horticulture Science, she also holds an ODA Pesticide Applicator certification and is a certified WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise). Kristi is the first point of contact for most clients and brings a thoughtful, personal approach to every consultation.

Dan Post

Manager · Excavation & Site Work Lead

Dan leads the excavation and site work side of the business. A graduate of Ohio State University — ATI with a degree in Nursery Management, he brings over 20 years of hands-on experience to every project. Dan oversees building pads, land clearing, pond construction, and heavy equipment operations with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
